Using our band mill, the logs are 'flat sided' on two faces.
The logs are then hand peeled with a spoke shave to create the approximate shape required to fit the structure.
A scribing tool is used to mark the profile of one log onto the next one. This is a very important stage and requires patience and precision.
The scribed shape is then sculpted out using a chainsaw. The fine detail is achieved using a hand chisel.
The finished log is then placed into its final position in the structure.
Then another log is selected ..........
